Van Speyk – Amsterdam

Van Speyk was extremely busy. It was lucky to be able to get a table quickly after intially being told that there was a 40 minute wait.

Haesje Claes – Amsterdam

At Haesje Claes, there were queues and lots of people packed into the entrance. Even though we had made a reservation, we still had to wait a while. But once seated, we could not fault the service, food or staff. Haesje Claes was a fabulous restaurant to sample traditional Dutch food.

Dakota’s Cafe & Bar – Amsterdam

Fitting for a bistro in an airport, Dakota’s has a plane theme decor. Dakota’s is slightly tucked away upstairs in the departures area at Schiphol Airport. The Cityhopper plane can be seen from the dining area and there is also seating area outdoors.

Bird Thais – Amsterdam

Bird Thais restaurant has been awarded the “Thai Select” seal of approval for Thai cuisine. The restaurant was very busy even though it is spread over two levels.

Moeders – Amsterdam

A whole day was spent out at the world’s second largest flower garden, Keukenhof in Lisse. Even though the tulip fields were not awash with so much colour as the tulips were late blooming, there was still plenty to see at this Garden of Europe.

SkyLounge – Amsterdam

Arriving at a holiday destination after a flight, it works wonders to start with some time relaxing. This gives time to get some orientation on the city and also get ideas on where to start the explorations.
